Minimalist CMS

Publish via Github or SFTP

August 28, 2026 by Minimalist CMS

The newest Minimalist CMS publishing path connects a site to a GitHub repository. It is intentionally smaller than a general Git client and more useful than a pile of deployment instructions.

Choose a clean local clone, test it, and sync. Minimalist CMS refreshes the public build, compares files, preserves unrelated repository material, removes only stale routes it previously managed, creates one descriptive commit, and pushes the active branch.

From repository to public site

Connect the repository to Vercel and a deliberate publishing action in the Mac app can carry a finished edit all the way to the web. The same site can still be sent through SFTP or uploaded manually, because the deployment path never changes the underlying public files.

That is the larger goal: sophisticated publishing without making the act of publishing feel sophisticated.
